We're getting into one of my favorite times of the year. Why is it my favorite time of the year? Because the weather is nice enough that I can regulate the temp. in my apartment by opening/closing windows. That means I don't have to run the stupid heat pump and I don't have $600 electric bills.

Also, one month and 6 days till my birthday. XD

My parents' one cat just had kittens. They are so cute! And Sasha has totally staked a claim on one of the gray and white ones :3

Review:
I saw this randomly on a MPreg discussion thread, and my first thought was "no freakin way am I reading this." But I did, for which I'm now super-glad.

The story jumps right into things, opening with this really strange tentacle/rape scene that is altogether pretty confusing at first. (But don't worry -- this isn't the tone/theme for the entire story, and the beginning section is the only part with tentacles at all. If you stick with it, things get explained pretty soon -- and I, for one, was completely hooked by chapter 2.) Overall, the story is satisfyingly long and complex, with plenty of twists and turns to keep things interesting. There's action and angsting, there're male pregnancies and family problems, there're demons and wereanimals as main characters, there are evil villains and baby catshifters, and on top of all that, there are lots of emotional issues to deal with. Tons of stuff happening. The characters are unique and compelling also, especially Walter who starts off the tale as a pretty lost and confused kid and really matures as the story progresses. (He really tugs the sympathy cord.)

Just beware if you're the squeamish type. If you are not a fan of dub-con/non-con, well, there's a fair amount of that. (Although it's not really the malicious-intent kind...for the most part, it feels more like the overbearing dom/unwilling+indignant sub variety. Kinda.) And of course there's also the mpreg, which I know not everyone likes, so I'll just say that there's a lot of other stuff going on besides that. Oh, and the incest factor. Um, I almost forgot about that. Well, the story makes it pretty easy to forget about (at least I thought), but I guess you'll have to wait and see for yourself.

So overall, I really thought this was an enjoyable read. If you are the type to worry, let me assure you that at its heart, this is a romance, so yeah, you know what that means.

Note: I *think* this story is getting re-worked and maybe published next year (2011) at SL Publishing Group under the title "Heart of a Satyr" (which I for one think is a much more appropriate name, although perhaps not quite as catchy).
